Rents & Benefits

Mosscare is a not-for-profit organisation and therefore the rent that we receive from you ensures that we continue to provide quality homes and services to new and existing tenants. Your rent pays for all services provided by Mosscare including maintenance, refurbishments, property management and other services.

How much is your rent?

Your tenancy agreement sets out the amount payable. Then every year you will receive a letter, giving at least four weeks notice, telling you of any rent increases. If you are an assured tenant you will receive this letter each year. If you are a secure tenant then the letter will be every two years. Check your tenancy agreement to see which tenancy you have.

How your rent is assessed?

The amount of rent you pay is based on the type, size and location of your property. You may also have a service charge to pay.

When you should pay your rent

Your rent is due in advance every Monday from the start of your tenancy. If you prefer you can pay rent in advance fortnightly or monthly. You cannot pay your rent in arrears.
