EQUIPMENT AND ADAPTATIONS…………………

Did you know if you are having difficulties using the facilities in your home you can apply for Equipment or an Adaptation to help you?

Adaptations are equipment or alterations to your home to help you to maintain your safety and independence. They are provided for residents with a physical or mental disability or a visual or sensory impairment.

Some examples of the items provided can include,

  • Showers if you have a disability making it difficult to get in and out of the bath.

  • Door bells with a flashing light alert for the hard of hearing.
  • Grab rails, walking equipment, raised toilet seats and many other items.

Your local authority’s social services department is responsible for providing this equipment. You can apply through Mosscare or directly to your local authority.

If you apply through Mosscare our Supported Housing Team will help you to fill in the application form. They will also continue to monitor the progress of your application.
