Ways to Work Project
The Ways to Work project is managed by Blue Orchid Management Consultants. The project is open to all tenants and their families who live in social housing within the Manchester City Council boundary. The service is there to help those tenants who are currently out of work and claiming benefits.
The main aim of the project is to provide Information, Advice and Guidance service to tenants who are seeking employment and/or training. This involves discussing their current circumstances, what they would like to do and how to achieve their gaols.
The project helps put together an action plan agreed by your tenant which may include writing a CV, interview skills training, job search support, accessing an apprenticeship, undertaking voluntary work, doing a paid placement, enrolling on a college course, taking up vocational training and much more.
The service currently has 3 advisors working in Manchester. Asghar Ali covers the north of the city, James Gilbert works in the central areas and Collette Carroll operates in the south of the city. To make an appointment for tenants to see an advisor, please call the Blue Orchid office on 0161 485 4949 or James Gilbert on 07595 284 491.
