Applying for a Home with Mosscare
How to apply
Mosscare allocates its housing accommodation to people in housing need whilst recognising the needs and aspirations of local communities. Where appropriate Mosscare will work with residents and other partners to establish local lettings policies with the aim of attracting people who have a desire to live in the local area and contribute to the community.

What is the
The Manchester Housing Register is a joint re-housing system between Manchester City Council and the local housing associations. By making just one application you can be automatically considered for rented homes run by all these organisations. You don’t have to make a separate application to each one.
The
Who can apply for a Mosscare Home?
- Mosscare tenants who are not already registered for rehousing.
- Anyone living in a Mosscare property who is not the tenant and not already registered for rehousing.
- Tenants of private landlords who would like to live in an area where Mosscare has properties and are not already registered for rehousing. Please refer to Our Properties section for where Mosscare has homes.
Applications we cannot register
· Anyone who is already registered on the Manchester Housing Register.
· Anyone who has a suspended application on the Manchester Housing Register.
· Tenants of
· Anyone lodging with a tenant of Manchester City Council or other Housing Associations. Please apply via the tenants own landlord.
· Anyone who does not want to live in an area where Mosscare has properties. Please refer to Our Properties section for where we have homes.
Homeless Applicants
If you are living in Manchester City Council Single or Family Homeless accommodation you should be registered for re-housing by your caseworker and be considered for Mosscare accommodation through the Manchester Housing Register.
Will my application be treated fairly?
Mosscare is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes housing applications from people of all backgrounds, irrespective of ethnic origin, race, nationality, religion, disability, political or sexual orientation, age, gender, marital status, HIV or AIDS status, class, appearance, responsibility for dependents or any other matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.
We monitor the ethnic origin of housing applicants and review it annually against the new tenancies we grant.
What about confidentiality?
The only people who will have access to your personal data without your permission are those dealing directly with your application or your tenancy. Any relevant information will be included in your tenancy file if you become a tenant but the only people who will have access to this are Mosscare Officers. You have the right to see what information we hold about you on file.
Filling in the application form
Please complete the application form as fully as possible answering all the questions. This will enable us to accurately assess your housing needs and requirements.
